Transform your walls with stucco Veneziano

Lo Venetian stucco is a type of decorative plaster composed of limemarble powders and natural pigments. Its origins date back to the period of the Republic of Venicewhen it was used to decorate noble palaces. Its technique quickly spread beyond the borders of Italy, influencing European architecture and world. Today, its application is appreciated worldwide, in both historic and modern buildings, for its unique ability to process spaces with a smooth finish and gloss sublimely reflecting light, evoking the art and beauty of the past in contemporary contexts.
Why choose Venetian stucco?
Venetian stucco is distinguished by its finish smooth and glossy, imitating the appearance of the marble. This feature not only adds elegance environments, but also contributes to making them more bright reflecting natural light. Thanks to its composition of lime and marble, Venetian stucco is extremely durable and resistant over time. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, maintaining its beauty unchanged for decades.
Lime, the main component of stucco, is a material highly breathable. This means that it allows the wall to breathe, preventing moisture problems and moulds. In addition, it can be coloured with a wide range of natural pigments, allowing almost infinite customisation of the shades. Unique colour effects can be achieved, ranging from the most delicate shades to the most intense colours.

Application of stucco Veneziano
Applying Venetian stucco requires skill and attention to detail. Here is a step-by-step guide for perfect application:
- Surface PreparationThe surface must be clean, dry and free of dust or grease. Any imperfections must be levelled out with a base plaster.
- Application of Primer: A primer specific for Venetian stucco, which improves product adhesion and prepares the wall to receive subsequent layers.
- First Coat of Putty: A first coat of Venetian stucco is applied with a spatula in stainless steel by performing circular movements, taking care not to overlap the product and trying to obtain an even layer. This coat must dry completely before proceeding (4 hours is recommended).
- Second Hand and FinishingA second coat of filler is applied, trying to create a smooth and polished effect. While drying, you can polish the surface with a clean spatula to achieve the marbled effect.
- Wax Application: To further protect and polish the stucco, a natural wax can be applied. This step adds shine and makes the surface more resistant.
Wall maintenance and care
The maintenance of Venetian stucco is relatively simple, which further increases its attractiveness. To clean the surfaces, simply use a soft cloth moistened with water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products or aggressive chemicals that could damage the glossy finish. To preserve the gloss and protection of the stucco, it is advisable to apply a coat of natural wax every 1-2 years, depending on the use and exposure of the surfaces. In the case of small scratches or chips, a touch-up can easily be made using the material itself, following the instructions of a professional to ensure an invisible repair. Thanks to its breathabilityVenetian stucco helps prevent the formation of moisture and mould, keeping walls healthy and in excellent condition over time.
