Washable or breathable paint? Choose the right one for every room

When it comes to renovating walls in the home, the choice of paint can be a dilemma. Of the many options available, two types in particular often cause confusion: the washable paint and that breathable.

Designed for allow the wall to breatheallowing moisture to pass through it. It is particularly suitable for surfaces that require good breathability, such as external walls or those subject to high humidity, such as bathrooms or kitchens.

Washable paints can be applied in all rooms and are available in all colours, even dark or saturated (vivid) ones. In addition to these characteristics, washable paints cover more, last longer and retain less dirt.

  • Ideal for high-traffic areas such as corridors, kitchens and children's rooms.
  • It resists shocks, scratches and stains, allowing easy cleaning.
  • Available in a wide range of colours and finishes.

Formulated to be stain-resistant and easy to cleanbreathable paint is chosen for rooms prone to condensation, such as bathrooms, kitchens and basements.

The main characteristic of this paint is that it does not 'trap' water vapour inside the walls, this prevents moisture from being retained with all the problems that this entails. Choosing a high quality breathable paint is a greater guarantee of wall protection.

  • Recommended for humid environments such as bathrooms and cellars.
  • It allows water vapour to escape, preventing the formation of mould and condensation.
  • Contributes to a healthier and more comfortable environment

In summary, while both types of paints may have some breathability, breathable paints are more oriented towards preventing damage from moisture and mould, while washable paints are designed for durability and ease of cleaning.
